Uncertain Futures is an exhibition of international photography that was projected at nightfall on June 28th onto the Gallery of Photography in Dublin’s Meeting House Square. The exhibition is a showcase of work by emerging photographers, and looks at the uncertainties faced by nations, groups and individuals worldwide.
Uncertain Futures was a key launch event of The Temple Bar Summer School, a programme of talks, events and workshops on the theme AN UNCERTAIN STATE.
Leading artists, critics and academics explored the uncertainty and instability of contemporary Ireland, focusing on the effects of the global financial crisis; changing demographics; contested histories and emerging social and political landscapes.
The talks were complemented by a specially curated group exhibition in the Gallery of Photography.
The Temple Bar Photography Summer School is an initiative of: Gallery of Photography, Temple Bar Cultural Trust and Dublin City Council in partnership with Dublin Institute of Technology Photography Programme and The National Photographic Archive / The National Library of Ireland. Talks on 28 & 29 June were kindly hosted by Project Arts Centre.
