Project 30 - Emerging View of Ireland

How do we now view Ireland? How do we relate to each other and the world around us? What sense of connection or community exists in Ireland today? Project 30 is a projection exhibition which gives viewers an insight into the work of the new wave of photographers working in Ireland today. 

The thirty artists on show represent a diversity of photographic responses to issues at the heart of life in contemporary Ireland: from personal insights into family relationships through to alternative lifestyles; our relationship to the landscape; institutional abuse; the legacy of conflict; and responses to the financial crisis.

Project 30 celebrates the wealth of exciting work by emerging photographic artists from all over Ireland, many of whom are recent graduates of the prestigious BA and MA programmes across Ireland and the UK. 

The artists are: Adam Patterson, Aisling Kane, Alex Boyd, Alice Myers, Alison Baker Kerrigan, Cait Fahey, Cindy Morrissey, David Flood, Dorje de Burgh, Eamonn Doyle, Eoin Shiel, James Parkin, Jamie Young, Jason Higgins, Karl Martini, Karolina Ostrowska, Ken Finegan, Kim Haughton, Martin McGagh, Michael Holly, Miriam O’Connor, Orla Sloyan, Paddy Kelly, Paul Corcoran, Paul Gaffney, Paul McGuckin, Ray Hegarty, Robert Ellis, Ruby Wallis, and Stefania Sapio.

Project 30: Emerging View of Ireland exhibition images

Project 30 is accompanied by a specially commissioned soundtrack by Darragh Shanahan. ‘Seahorse Music’ is an exploration into the effects of sound on photographs.

 The Social Landscape – presentations and discussions by three Project 30 artists. Admission €2, Gallery Members free, booking advisable.
